I see him tomorrow online I will send him to this thread...he has shots of the Torii gate and the Pagoda. I am sure he will post here when he sees it.

I'll post a comparison shot later but that is for sure the Torii in front of the Itsyushima (sp) shrine. Its the only one like it in the country. Sorry I was out because of work and I had to tear apart my PC to get the new parts in... go figure I forgot about my laptop as my PC, BUT I am on duty today so I won't have time to post anything else tonight unless the person I'm on duty with cuts me out for a short break.

Richard,
Great I guess that cinches it as Hiroshima. If you have any other shots that appear to show some of the same area or things that would be cool.
I understand. I am supposed to be working as well.
Thanks
Bob

Thanks, I thought so when I found them in the pile of stuff my grandmother gave me.

Finally got around to uploading. Its a long process when you have that many photos, and I had to wait to finish downloading all the games and patches and utilities I had on my PC before I formatted it and then got it back to running...

Thanks! There is no doubt about it that was taken at the same place. Solved a question I had for about 30 years.

First Image - Hiroshima, after the first atomic bomb explosion. This view was taken from the Red Cross Hospital Building about one mile from the bomb burst.

Second Image - Nagasaki, August 10, 1945.
