Re: Next battlefront game

As a reminder to all...I believe these were the Victory Conditions we started with....just for reference. Most real-life battles never went quite the way the High Commands envisioned, so the Supreme Leader (Mag-man) can decide whether circumstances require a different VC scenario.

Communique to the Allied Commander: We are will to accept your Unconditional Surrender. You have fought honorably, and your forces will be treated according to the tenets of the Geneva Convention. Why punish your men so? We will hold fire for 24 hours to give you ample time to come to a wise decision.

Thanks guys, if it was just the Tankovy Ba, it would have been over a while ago, they took a pounding, and fairly historical as well given the scenario here. The Germans were pretty nasty on the defense, if they did'nt have to use any gas (LOL) to get anywhere to defend their area late in the war.
Zhukov is counting on the good old foot sloggers to get the job done in the end, we will see. Cheers, I think Commander Z will forgo any surrender at this time, thanks anyways Emery!!! LOL Ha Ha Ha

Re: Next battlefront game
Russian move.
In the spirit of Kutusov the wily Russian commander uses his available units well. The mortars come in well on the Ostwind. A disorder and just one off an elimination. After this the Sturmovik comes roaring back in for a strafing run. The disordered Ostwind fires but has no effect at all as the plane strafes the trenches between the Panthers..... One section ducks and is not hit at all. The second section ducks .... a little bit too late. Synchronised ducking this is not... An elimination. There is a gaping hole in the defence for the Russians to stream through.... Movement. Top trenches. These SMG guys are tough. Forced to run back the commander orders them to turn around and have one more try. These guys are so tough they continue to run in the wrong direction with all that gear on a hot day..... maybe next game they will be back? The other two companies have more luck making progress. Two sections race forward to close combat the men in the trenches. Another five sections race for the gap left by the eliminated section. Not much between them and the town now. The SU-100 edges around the woods to get to a position where it can threaten the Ostwind and JagdPanzer. Again the wily Russians place it so the burning brown T34 is in the LOS of the JagdPanzer. These boys are getting clever aren't they ? So there we have it. Big cracks in the German defences but a Russian advance that can't afford many more losses, otherwise thay may be competing with the SMG troops to see who gets to the back of the board first. It is now the German defensive fire phase. |

Re: Next battlefront game
German defensive fire.
The Russian troops assaulting the trenches have uncovered two more German sections. One of each was hiding on the edge of each light woods beside the JagdPanther and the Panther. These open fire along with the troops in the trench. Two more Russian sections are eliminated along with a company commander. The JagdPanzer and Ostwind fire at the retreating SMG units and disorder one. No other fire at this stage. Close Combat. One Russian section vs. one disordered German section. The Germans are entrenched and are veterans so this will be close..... The Germans hang on by the skin of their teeth and the Russians move back disordered. Very close. End of the Russian turn. German turn. Artillery. In a word - pathetic. They couldn't have missed by more if they had fired in the opposite direction. The German commander is fuming. Just when they really needed them, the artillery fails to deliver. Did these guys work as postmen or something ? The mortar unit in the town has more success as they suppress a Russian infantry unit. Offensive fire. The troops in the trenches fire again at the Russians in front of them.... One suppression. A bit more luck for the Russians. German movement. The Russian troops are surprised to see several units moving out of the town toward the trenches. The SU commander is also surprised to see the JagdPanzer break cover and head for the trenches at the top woods. He takes an opportunity shot as the Jagd presents it's side on the way through..... this could be nasty..... And it is ..... the JagdPanzer stops at the top of the trench as the crew bails.... the third German AFV is out of action.... The Ostwind reorders but does not move. Another troop unit moves out of the top light woods and heads to the burning brown T34. End of German Movement. It is now the Russian defensive fire phase. |
