Re: Next battlefront game

Wow, this game has really rolled in my absence! The last few posts are a bit cryptic in that I didn't even see the Russian Arty etc.?? Anyway, fine playing from both sides! Looks like we are at the second half of Turn 4 (German play) of 12???

Re: Next battlefront game

Actually it's the complete German turn. It's daytime now so I should get this about right.

The German artillery commander doesn't fancy the idea of being a member of the Vienna boys choir so the shells come in well on the Russian troops above the top heavy woods. Three disorders and a suppression on the T34. 1 higher on the rolls and it would have been a lot worse for the Russians. The troops in the trench haven't heard about the choir and their fire is terrible. Still, the Russian advance on the trenches will be slowed badly.

As you may have guessed, we are now into the German offensive fire stage.

The JagdPanzer fires at the same T34 with no further damage.

The Panther fires at the suppressed T34 at the bottom of the map but no further damage results.

The JagdPanther commander is in no mood for mistakes as he directs fire on the T34/85 in between the heavy woods. This shot could disorder two T34's in one go. Since it is only firing at one it becomes a complete blow up, thus using my long awaited turret displacement method. Smoke billows from the defunct hull as nearby infantry duck for cover.

It is now the German movement phase followed by Russian defensive fire.

A T34 comes forward with the SU-85 towards the Panther.

In the centre another T34 with infantry straining to keep up rolls down the track between the woods.

Above the top heavy woods infantry and another T34 come forward and find entrenched Panzer Grenadiers blocking their way.

Other Russian units that need to have reordered well and are on the move.

Will the Germans have enough to hold the horde back or are they going to be steamrolled ?

We will find out in the next phase - German Defensive Fire.

Attachment 3084

The commander of the T34 in the centre asks if he can swap with the artillery commander and go to Vienna.

A nice view of what's coming for the Germans.
I think I had some shots in here from at least two tanks I think, time for work , but I will recheck my orders, I don't see any shots being taken here Dave.......

Cheers

Tom

HHMM, or maybe it was the next "move" I did, not sure here but could you recheck the last couple moves and fire for the Russians please? Thanks

Post Re: Next battlefront game

YEP, I rechecked and there was a T-34/85 shot from the one that did'nt move and the reordered 'overwatched?" SU-100 I beleave, does that ring any bells, or maybe they just fired and missed, and you forgot to post that....... Either way, no big deal, but when you have a moment or to to clarify please, thanks.

Tom

Re: Next battlefront game

Yes you are right. That was when i got mixed up. the Su did fire as did the T34/85 at the top heavy woods (the brown one), but no go for either, they are rolling as well as the entrenched Germans at the moment.

Hope you have your def fire ready for use after the German movement.

Re: Next battlefront game

Okay folks, the German command has made their moves. Nothing visible to the Russians but they have enough to look at for the moment anyway.

It is now definitely the RUSSIAN DEFENSIVE FIRE PHASE..... I hope
