Paper miniatures

Ever wanted to try a miniatures game but didn't want to lay out all the money for plastic or metal miniatures? Maybe paper miniatures from;

Junior General Home Page would fit the bill. This guys a teacher who uses paper mini's to teach with in the classroom. He's attracted a good following of people who now submit their own work. Quite the selection also, from ancients to the future.

Now that's pretty darned clever! Kinda like recognition posters meets gaming figures! I know there's a big craze right now for games with foamcore cutouts...kinda like a cross between the playing pieces you'd see in 1960's games like COMBAT! and Origami. I see these mostly in the Pirate fare and Sci-Fi games.

Saw this game at an antiques store last year. Almost picked it up. As for the site, I'm downloading the ships I'ld need for the 'Battle of Jutland'. Would cost a small fortune to do with 1/1200 or even 1/2400 metal ships.

Did somebody say Jutland? Cool, we are experimenting with some 1/3000th ships and rules at the moment. I have the Queen Elizabeth and some cruisers, all of which are still afloat. Great fun but I would like easier rules. The paper ones are a good way to go.

Cost effective compared to plastic or metal...but I have to admit, the foam core ones still look a little too starnge to me.

They are an excellent option for ship gaming as the 1/3000 stuff is quite small. A decent printer and the paper one could really come to life.

You're right Magna, the ships really do look good. Plus you can have your navy on the 'High Seas' in an afternoon.

The nice thing I wiould think the paper miniatures offer are graphics.

The real extra is the colour ones. Everything ready to go as Hagen said.
