This German General decided to bow out early. I guess he knew the deck would be stacked against him.

Actually he's a Sturmbannfuhrer, a Major. I noticed the portrait has been defaced and the officer appears to have been frisked. Wonder if it was actually a suicide or a "field court of justice".

Actually, he's a Volkssturm Battalion Commander. Or rather, was.

I found an illustration of the armband, which reads "Deutscher Volkssturm Wehrmacht."

One of the the things my Dad brought back from his WW2 army days in Europe (1944-1945) was this same armband. Along with several other cool things.

My Dad was in the Pacific. Same time about. He brought some neat stuff back also. Don't ever get rid of them though.
