Re: Women of the Reich

It's without a doubt the same location and I would guess the second photo was a bit earlier in the same party. I can identify at least four of the girls and the one officer.

Great find!

Strange, huh? One photo is snapshot like and yellow with age, the other much better quality and still crisp.

If this is the same group, or even just a few of them, what are the odds both would have survived the war and ended up on the same history site!

Unfortunatly I have no information on locations and dates.

Nurses en route to the front lines

Doing a job once reserved for men, a female conductor on the Reishcbahn checks the ticket of a young boy

Platoons of women were organized to man soup kitchens that served troops returning to or coming home from the front

A pair of Blitzmädel, female radio operators identified by the shoulder patch, salute a passing troop train

A female rail worker changes a placard on the rear of a train car

A group of Blitzmädel checking a train schedule
I thought these two to be similar. The bottom two that is.

Now, this is strange. Two photos from two different sources. That is the same bridge, and honestly think its the same group. I can match at least two women and one of the officers.

If so than the second photo must have been taken before they poured the schnapps.
That second photo was found on the BundesArchiv site. I did some more digging there tonight and guess what...

The same group!!!

I wish I knew who these people were.
