Re: Women of the Reich

Thanks to everyone for the great photographs posted in this thread. They are some of the best I've ever seen of German servicewomen during World War II.

The photographs above were indeed taken at Auschwitz-Birkenau. Most of the SS women are probably admin staff or the more sinister Aufseherin.

Female guards in Nazi concentration camps - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Many women worked at Auschwitz including Irma Grese, Elisabeth Volkenrath and Maria Mandel, although none of them are in the photographs above.

Give me a few days and I will post some more photographs of the female camp guards who worked at Belsen, Auschwitz and Ravensbruck.

Kind regards.

Female members of a Feuerwkrieg group, wartime firefighting squad
Exact date and location of this particular photo unknown

This photograph however can be dated to 1995, a half century after the war
The 50th reunion of the eight surviving members of that squad

Re: Women of the Reich

I just got lucky on a German site dedicated not to war, but firefighting in general.
