German U-boat U-9 commanded by Lt Otto Weddigen. On 22 Sept. 1914 the U-9 sank the three British cruisers Aboukir, Cressy, and Hogue. (12,000 tons each) The first major blow of the U-boat war.

Among the best class of battleship made. The Queen Elizabeth class. Five ships in all, four of which survived both world wars.
