Re: What book are you reading now...

I'm reading 'Voices from the Battle of th Bulge' by Nigel de Lee. It's an ok read nothing more. But has a glaring error, he says that Hasso Von Manteuffel was a Field Marshal. I'm not an academic but even I know he was a General der Panzertruppe at the time and finished the war with this rank. I would have thought that somebody who covered war studies at Sandhurst and has led battlefield tours for military and academic clients in Europe would have known this. You would also hope that it would have been proof read before committing it to print.

"Defeat In The West" by Milton Shulman. Originally published in 1947, Schulman rewrote some chapters in 1968. (my edition is from 2003) Milton Shulman was an intelligence officer in the Canadian army in Northwest Europe and interogated 26 senior officers including von Rundstedt, Sepp Dietrich and Kurt Student.

Re: What book are you reading now...

I just started Hell Hawks about US Army Air Force fighter-bomber pilots. It's written by Robert Dorr and Thomas Jones. So far so good!
