Another resale store find, "Night Raider of the Atlantic" The Saga of the U-99, By Terence Robertson. Copywrite 1955. As some of you know U-99 was commanded by Otto Kretschmer.

Re: What book are you reading now...
Small Wonder, published originally back in 1965. The book is supposed to be about the VW Beetle, but the first few chapters focused on Dr. Porsche and his dream of a People's Car. It goes into Hitler, the Party, and the Wolfsburg factory.
The post-war recovery of the company was nothing short of amazing, mostly the work of one man. I'm getting into the expansion of VW of America right now, so it's losing my interest. Still, those first few chapters were great reading for a WWII buff, especially since I have a color photo in a book of the dedication ceremony at Wolfsburg! |

Re: What book are you reading now...
I just finished "Winged Victory-The Army Air Force in World War II" by Geoffrey Perret. I felt that he failed to adquate covered the role of the USAAF in the Pacirfic after 1942. It seemed that the three chapters on the USAAF after 1942 were added as an after thought.
