Wink Re: Dumb but Lucky.......

No prob, did you take that "Japan bombing our B-17s from the air, when the B-17s were in the air the same way I did??

I like reading a good book hours on end, but the kind of writing in this one, sometimes makes me think, I don;t know, the guy was'nt all there, so to speak......No disrespect here either, but ya know???

Cheers, keep on "bablin" buddy, it works for me.

Reading back on it, I guess I agree with ya. I hadn't given it much thought at the time. Saying "he wasn't all there" is a understatement. You ain't read nothin yet. He's lucky he didn't get thrown in the brig. Then again i'm not done with the book yet. Normally I find it hard to put a good book down. I guess thats why I can wait every other week to read some of it. My brother gave me 'Trail of the Fox' (Rommel) by David Irving. I guess he is not a favorite of some but heck,I'll read anything and make my own opinions. And yes,I know you meant no disrepect for the guy.

Post Re: Dumb but Lucky.......

I find myself reading just like 5-10 pages, then T-34s in action kinda slip into my mind, so I switch to that one the rest of the time.....LOL

Cheers buddy, or shall I say "friend".

Re: Dumb but Lucky.......

I have heard that the Germans tried the same thing, bombing aeroplanes from above. It was not very successful.

Heinz Knoke mentions it in his book "I flew for the Fuhrer" how they tryed it with minor success.

I don't think you could have spoiled it for me. It's one I sort of wish I never bought. I am reading 'The trail of the fox' about Rommel now. MUCH better!
