Re: Panzer Elite

Like I said, even though this is an older game (6 or 7 years old), they are currently adding mods and tweaks of all kinds almost daily. One of the latests upgrades puts the early Brit armour in the France 1940 scenario (Blitzpak Mod). Good stuff indeed!

Ok. No worries. OSX is the operating system for the new Macs. Not a problem though. Thanks.

Re: Panzer Elite

Why the heck am I only learning about this game now?!
It looks awesome. I know what I'll be trying to find the next time I visit the local zoo (read 'mall').

Re: Panzer Elite

The following link claims to have some downloads to try out the game. I haven't tried it yet, so I cannot vouch for what you get, but I found quite a bit on Panzer Elite with a simple Google search. Here's the demo link:

Panzerelite Action

I see that the Special Edition version can be picked up for about $15...not a bad deal. It requires your system to be a Pentium, which my desktop is...but my trusty new laptop at which I peck away at right this moment is a Turion 64X2...what that means in relationship to the Pentium level I haven't a clue (any computer geeks out there willing to enlighten this neophyte in what the pecking order is with these terms of Pentium, Athlon, Centrino, et. al.???

Re: Panzer Elite

Turion 64X2 processors are 64 bit dual core AMD processors that are meant to compete with Intel's dual core processors. If the rest of your laptop meets the system requirements (RAM, video card, OS, etc.), which I would suspect that it does, your processor will be more than adequate.

Thanks Jim! I'm probably a bit computer challenged when it comes to the tech stuff.

Don't worry, you'll be fine. It will run on my Intel dual core Mac when I load XP so you won't have a problem.

I'm getting the game in the next week or so - can't wait.

but you should consider using Parallels desktop from Plesk and not a dual boot. It's a virtualizer and using a virtual machine is a lot faster than powering down/rebooting and repeating. I use it on my Mac and like it a lot. My guess is that your processor also has built in virtual machine support (though you may need to turn it on in the setup utility).

Yes. I have looked at a few. I haven't seen that one though. It all depends how much it costs ?
