Germany is tough on a world map. Europe can get really crowded and becomes a killing field right within a few turns. That can be part of the fun, though.

I'm partial to the Babylonians on a cultural game. Religious and Scientific gets me all sorts of temples and libraries really cheap. I tend to like the Chinese, too, as the Industrious characteristic gets me extra boost in building stuff.

Yeah, but... it makes sure I know exactly where all the computer units are...

Trade off, I guess =|

Re: Civilization

Hi, my name is Scott and I'm a Civaholic. I've played them all from 1 up to whatever it is now, 5 I think. I once got up at 3 AM to play because I HAD to. Being obsessive compulsive is a bad thing.

Yeah I used to do the same especially when I was in the Middle of some war or other, a idea would get in my head and couldn't sleep until I went down and did something about it.

Cool Re: Civilization

I have played CivII and Civ III, I presently own Civ III, and it is on my computer. But I don't play much. I have to admit that my favorite computer game is an old Win95 game called M.A.X., which stands for Mechanized Assault and eXploration. In this game you build the factories that build the units. It has infantry, air units, land units, and sea units. A bit like the old C&C, but the thing that has me hooked is that you can play RTS or turn based! No more answer the phone and turn around to find your base trashed. It won't work with WinXP, however, but I have an older PC running Win Me. It works fine with that. Great game! Not WWII though, set in the future where a drop ship drops off your constructors. Those are the units that build the factories that build the units. Whew

Re: Civilization

OK, I've not felt the compulsion to get up at 3 AM to play a game...just hit the head. Now that's dedication and addiction all included in one package (the gaming that is, not the other activity!)
