Re: SASL (Solitaire ASL) Game Idea
Well, looking at the # of votes so far it looks like the player force is leaning toward being German, taking place on the Eastern Front. In that trend holds up we will be doing the May 1943, Southern Front theme.
Earlier in this thread Italians were mentioned so if anyone would prefer to have their platoon use Italian, Romanian or Hungarian forces feel free to speak up. I have no problem with the final makeup so long as players feel involved and interested. While the main force will be Infantry based I will look at adding in a few vehicles to mix things up. Not Tanks but maybe a few Armored Cars/Halftracks. Of course I can't select these unless I know what nationalities will be selected for individual Platoons.

Re: SASL (Solitaire ASL) Game Idea
If, we are to use the German forces as the base for the players side, May 43 on the Eastern Front the force composition options could be the following;
HQ Platoon (German as this would be a German led operation). Leader x1, 2-4-7 x2, 1-2-7 x2 (crews), HMG, MMG German Infantry Platoon Leader x1, 4-6-7 x4, LMG, 50mm MTR, ATR Italian Infantry Platoon Leader x1, 3-4-7 x4, LMG Romanian Infantry Platoon Leader x1, 3-4-7 x4, LMG, 60mm MTR Hungarian Infantry Platoon Leader x1, 3-4-7 x4, LMG, 20mm ATR This means the Operation Commander must use the German HQ Platoon as his force (plus he may be allocated some support vehicles and other niceties that he can assign out for the mission OR maintain operational control at his discretion). Possible support assets could be: SPW 251/1, StuG III G or maybe something else. Whatever would be added it would only be a vehicle or 2 at most. The remaining Platoon Commanders (players) can choose from any of the 4 Platoon forces listed above to be their own command for the operation. The actual force makeup does not matter to me BUT we would need at least 4 players (1 Company Commander and 3 Platoon Commanders). This means all 3 Line Platoons could be German, Italian or any combination.

Re: SASL (Solitaire ASL) Game Idea
I sure hope there is not a rush of players wanting to play Canadian or Americans. I'll have to redo the whole storyline.
![]() Just kidding. The map and "game" is already set up, it would only be a matter of determining which nations are involved but it looks like the trend is still leaning toward the Germans/Axis.
