Re: Company A, Report HERE!! (Korocho ASL game) TRDG.

The German Turn 1 AAR has been posted in the Game Den Thread: http://worldwartwozone.com/forums/24715-post6.html

Post any questions concerning A Company here in this thread.

When I post the next screenshot it will be another of the real detailed/large ones that you can use for planning your 1/2 of the Russian Turn 1 (your Defensive Fire Orders). I will also post a detailed OOB (units location/status) to go with the screenshot (some units will be hard to see due to the stacking).

DO NOT post any orders until I post the next screenshot and request them so that I can find them when the time comes. ;(

Cool Re: Company A, Report HERE!! (Korocho ASL game) TRDG.

Co A

Pat, WR and SOME of Ac's squads, defensive Fire on that AT gun in the house at O-6 (I beleave?).

Matt split your fire between there and the Russian Rifle squads that may head into the orchards in front of you.

If you guys want more specific orders from me, let me know.......

HQ will cover the left side for the broken Mortar and other rifle squads they can see moving or not!!

Cheers, good first turn guys, keep it up, our half-track may have to help Co B in turn two, but only after taking out that AT gun!!!

Captain Tomzak Co A Co.

Tom, I don't think I can Defensive Fire...my guys in LOS of O6 are Pinned. They can't move or fire, but will be Un-pinned on Turn 2

They were only pinned for the remainder of your turn. They are good to go now for the Russian 1/2 of the turn.

DD...clarification please: I'm a little lost. I believe I was Pinned during Russian Defensive Fire Phase (DFph), and therefore not able to move or fire until Turn 2, when the Pin marker comes off. Not sure what you mean by "Russian Half"...DFph? And they'll be un-Pinned for the AFPh? That doesn't make sense to me for some reason.

Now at this juncture, I did not realize the (I think) Prep Fire Phase (PFPh) is where you do your main Full Firepower shooting; and the Advancing Fire Phase (AFPh) is for Half Firepower?

The Pinned effect is only until the end of the current player turn (this is until the end of the German 1/2 of the turn in your case). Yes, Prep Fire is full firepower, Advancing Fire is halved but you cannot do both. You can opt not to Prep Fire and fire in the Advancing Fire phase BUT you still have your firepower halved.

Re: Company A, Report HERE!! (Korocho ASL game) TRDG.

What I will need for this 1/2 of Turn 1 is for your team to post their Defensive Fire targets. This should include priorities such as something like this;

17/B8: 127, MMG - Fires at 17/D3 unless another target moves into the open within normal range.

You can be a little more detailed then above BUT please do not post an essay on possible fire options. Keep it as simple as possible.

IF an enemy unit moves adjacent you get what is called Final Protective Fire and I will handle all that on my end as there would be no need for you to tell me who should fire in those cases.

Re: Company A, Report HERE!! (Korocho ASL game) TRDG.

OK, thanks for the explaination on Pinned. I think I get it. I'm confused again, however...I thought Defensive Fire (in the DFPh) was where the DEFENDER (not me the ATTACKER) has the opportunity to fire, either during my MPh (halting me in my tracks)...Defensive First Fire, or Subsequent First Fire at 1/2 FP after DFF; or during the DEFENDER's DFPh (Final Fire)? Either way, not me the ATTACKER being allowed to fire.

The turn sequence is what's getting me here, and the reference to your half/my half. My understanding of the firing sequence at this juncture is:

Prep Fire Phase (PFPh).....ATTACKER (me) can fire at Full Firepower

Movement Phase (MPh).....DEFENDER can opt to fire on moving ATTACKER units in LOS

Defensive Fire Phase (DFPh).....DEFENDER can opt to fire on moving ATTACKER units (with restrictions)

Advancing Fire Phase (AFPh).....ATTACKER (me) can fire those that didn't fire in PFPh at Half Firepower

Close Combat Phase (CCPh).....both ATTACKER and DEFENDER battle simultaneously

So I am guessing what you are talking about in MY halves of the game is...1st half RPh, PFPh, MPh; and 2nd half being the AFPh, RtPh, APh, and CCPh?

The second half or Turn 1 for me:

AFPh

Group 2; 17/M9 Woods, 3-4-7 X 1 Squad, FIRE @ 17/06 1/2 FP

End Fire
