Re: Simplicity ain't so bad!
Wasn't Tactics and Tactics II Avalon Hill games? Sounds familiar, but I'm too lazy tonight to Google it

Re: Simplicity ain't so bad!
I had never seen Wargames until 78.
My first time playing Wargames was a game of the Russian Campaign while visiting a cousin that summer. After he beat me soundly I was hooked. We rushed to store after supper to see what other games there was. I walked out with AH 3rd Reich (and a blue box with D&D in it but that is different story). We taught each other the game, beating each other repeatedly over the next few weeks.

Re: Simplicity ain't so bad!
Hmmmm, if I have to be honest, the first wargame I ever played (an honest to goodness wargame) was about 1985. Someone I worked for brought in Avalon Hill's Panzer Blitz to work, which wwe played every day at lunch, and I was hooked. I went out to a hobby store near Boston and picked up Panzer Blitz and Panzer Leader not long after, and bought a few of that workmate's cast offs. I was off and running!
