re: Origins 2008

Unfortunately, not this year. I did pass by the Flames of War miniatures area a couple times, but they were secluded all the way in the back corner, and seem to get a tad aggravated if people went near them with a camera. The tables they were provided were single width, much like the empty one I snapped a pic of where the Axis & Allies game never went off, hence, the guys playing at the tables were kinda crowded around the table rather densely. Have you experienced similar in your playings? The FoW demo area in the Dealer's Hall last year had a real nice layout...modules that could be pieced together into larger battlefields, I suspected. It almost seems a shame these guys were huddled over table modules on skinny tables.

re: Origins 2008

OK Tom, I know you're feeling a little left out so I am dredging up a photo from last year's Origins that may whet your appetite a tad....

This is from the War Room, which is the area that plays the games like Advanced Squad Leader....

And the Advanced Squad Leader folks themselves, Multiman Publishing...

And missing this year from the Dealer's Hall was Days of Wonder...this is their booth last year, and an example of the demo area where you can play and learn their games...

Very comprehensive look at the whole process WR. Thanks for going to all this work as it shows those of us who haven't been to one of these bunfights what it is all about.

Smile re: Origins 2008

Thanks Emery, those FoW guys do look kinda scary though LOL, Did you happen to see a guy named Phil over there last year, he is the main designer?
Those two boards look to be Africa (desert) and an Eastern Front village set, I'll check their site and see if I can snag a pic or two of this years battles and boards.

Cheers, thanks for not leaving me out here buddy!!
