Great East German Uniforms

Yes. All mine lol. Those are the extent of my uniforms though. I have a SS helmet and a couple medals.

I got an SS helmet myself. But it is an Parade Helmet. So it never has seen any action. But because of this, it is in mint condition, an Irion Cross secon class, an infantry ring from the Afrika Korps, some WHW badges, and a ring what I'm not sure about what it is supposed to be. Freikorps propably.

awesome. my helmet is a steel one. so its the one they used in combat. i dont think it has seen action either. Its a nice one. The SS decal is coming off though so i try not to even breathe on it lol.

East German Uniforms... They are pretty much dead on with TR era uniforms. I have yet to get one though. I saw a couple on Ebay but with all this stuff coming up down the road with me I need to save money and I am trying to budget my cash. Also paying for a German Battle Flag does not help matters any. But yes, they are very cheap to get complete sets. I wouldn't buy it to modify it to look TR era unless of course I needed it for some reason. I like to keep all my uniforms as I get them as they are. But that is just me

I could't walk around in an TR era uniform even if I wanted to. Well, I could. But I'd be arrested before I can say "Guderian"

Yea. Hopefully i can order some more uniforms. Ebay is a good place to get them. To tell ya the truth im not really sure if i want to modify my uniform. I have that hat. I dont know though. Its up in the air.

This may be a dumb question but why do you want to modify them? any serious TR collector would consider them "fakes" (as they are not TR era) and if you a reenactor why don't you just buy repro uniform?

And on a side note, DDR millitaria is very cheap now, however as the DDR no longer exist and hence no DDR millitaria is being made, I have the feeling that in a few years the price of it will rise sharply.

Well, repo is a lot more expensive. It would a lot easier to just modify them. Plus i dont really need a point to it. just something to do. I havnt done them yet. Its just a suggestion really. something to do in your spare time. knitting doesnt really have a purpose but people do it lol.

Ingsoc has a point there. The DDR uniforms will get much more expensive a few years from now. But I doubt, that they ever will get as expensive as one of the Wehrmacht.
