Well, face it. A very good bit of it was "liberated" by the victorious Allied soldiers. Those men that kept their awards and regalia often had to hide them. How many forgot where it was, or had to move, or for some reason couldn't recover it?

My Great-Grandmother burned an threw away my Gramps HJ Uniform and Dagger. Only thing he managed to save was a Gasmask and a cap from the RAD. Oh, almost forgot. He got two Bajonets (Wehrmacht) and a Officers hat from the french (snicker) army which he stole before blowing up an annexed Kübelwagen. Long story. But it had to do something with cookies.

The 25yr Faithful Service Award is pretty common. In the case of issue they go for around $100. Without case: $30-40
