Here's my stuff

G'day all...many of you will have seen these before but I thought I should 'move in' to this site properly. Some of you guys who joined the 'other' site more recently may see some stuff for the first time.

Mig15bis in North Korean markings but flown by a Soviet pilot in Korea. Built for the very first group build.

Mig15One.jpg

S.E.5a for the second build.

S.E.5aOne.jpg

I-16 from before my forum days...my first attempt at this weathering technique.

I-16One.jpg

And finally my FW190D-9. I started this in 1996 and finished it in 2006.

Fw190D-9One.jpg

They're all 1/48. The Mig is Tamiya, the S.E.5a is Roden, the I-16 is Academy and the D-9 is very early Dragon. Sorry for the poor pics...I need to work on my photography.
Peace.

Re: Here's my stuff

The D-9 above also has a Verlinden cockpit...actually a 190 A series cockpit but as I said...it was ten years ago.
There's also this...
P-39AiracobraOne.jpg
Many of you will know it...others may not. This, I finished about three or four weeks ago...it's also 1/48 and the kit is by Hasegawa. A very nice kit it was too.

Re: Here's my stuff

Thanks McCoy...I have a couple of others too. Tamiya's Pz II and Marder II. I also have Tamiya's 1/48 F4U Corsair. I LOVE that aircraft. It's one of those 'if I knew then what I know now...' models. The saddest part is that it has a $40 superdetail set inside...cockpit, wheel bays etc. That was a nice kit too.
The I-16 was a $20 Academy kit I bought to test weathering ideas on. The kit was pretty basic but still not too bad. The decals however were lousy. They were very thick and all of the red stars literally fell off overnight after I applied them. I shopped around for aftermarket decals but couldn't get any. I had to settle for some Yak 1 decals by Eaglestrike I think. They were beautiful to work with...I like aftermarket decals better than kit ones every time. Sadly (), I now have five sets of Yak 1 decals looking for a home. Next I-16 I do will be by Eduard. I've seen the kit at my club and it's excellent.
Peace.

The FW-190 is a beauty. 1/48 seems to be a good scale for planes.

Nick, I'm with Urban...you're aircraft make me long to do an aircraft again, and bring back fond memories of my builds from way back, though they didn't come anywhere near the level of craftsmanship you display, my friend!

I was prepared to say I like the Mig best...until I saw your P-39...wowwie-wow-wow-wow!!!! Nice work, Mate!

I'm with the other Guys Nick, seeing your stuff makes me want to do another plane too. Really like that SE 5a, always had a soft spot for WWI Aircraft. Although I probably couldn't post it here, maybe I'll do one of these:

Re: Here's my stuff

Very nice collection G44...I am not an aircraft man but they are very inspiring. I will never feel bad again when I say that it takes me about 10 months to complete a project.....started in 1996 and finished in 2006 is fantastic. I take my hat off to you my friend. Seriously...very nice work indeed.
