PBY-5A with scratchbuilt interior.

Who need's expensive aftermarket resin? This incredible builder sure doesn't need 'em.

Re: PBY-5A with scratchbuilt interior.

Thats a fantastic job he did, my only problem with that, is when he's done and seals it up, you can't see all that great detail he did

Someone had to say something along those lines. You beat me to it.

Great work. He seems to have put his engineering background to good use on that one.

Re: PBY-5A with scratchbuilt interior.

He did a truely fantastic job, but like LT, I think it was a shame to hide most of the internal detail when its fully assembled.

I think with his talent that he could have made some parts of the fuselage removable (along some of the panel lines around the bunks for example.) to expose the detailed interior thats hidden.

But it is still a phenomenal piece of work.

Cheers,
Dave

Your right AD, thank god for digital photography so you can document your work that no one will be able to see later on.

There's alot to be said for Evergreen. I wish I had their entire selection.

The man is either brilliant or crazy. Either way the result is superb.

Re: PBY-5A with scratchbuilt interior.

I'd say a nice mixture of brilliant AND crazy...besides, there's a little crazy in anyone who does what we do...at least by today's 'instant gratification' standards. I find the same stuff I always did with my art. Somebody always says 'Gee...I wish I could do that'. I always think 'no you don't...you wish you could do it without putting in the years of practice that I did'. I guess this guy has just put in the kind of practice I'm talking about. I also think that any one of us would be just as capable...if not on the first try, to create something equally inspiring. We may be just as capable, but maybe not as crazy.
Peace.
