About our two current builds

I have a thought i would like to run by you guys.
We don't have alot of people in these builds so i was wondering what do you think
if we do something along these lines?

If your project for the 8 week build does not finish in time, you may enter it in the 6 month build?

This way if your working really hard on something and you can't finish it in time you still
don't lose out.

This was always a problem of mine at ACG, my timing was always off so when i finished
all i could do was shelve it cuz i missed out on the build deadline.

What are your guys thoughts?

To me it sounds like an excellent idea! The whole point with the groupbuilds is to have fun n' learn from each others along the way. I like the idea.

Re: About our two current builds

I don't see why not, it is a friendly build! I was thinking today that we got it the wrong way round, the 25 year old models should have been 6 months, these old moulds can be a right pig and require a lot of work to get them to look half decent. Of course, if the actual model is 25 then that can be different!!

Re: About our two current builds

Well if everyone likes this idea, if your old 25yr model takes too long you
would now have a fall back, to enter it in the 6 month build.

I know that means we would have a 25 yr old kit up against newer, and
any type kit, but this way you still get to show it off.

Re: About our two current builds

I think it's a fine idea Luft. As the guys say...it's about fun and not about rules. I guess the only reason we have a 'Group Build' framework is so we can see everybody building their stuff in the same time-frame and in the same thread. I would certainly have participated in one or both of the builds here if circumstances were different in my life...namely the birth of my daughter requiring a lot of my 'building time'...and the fact that I'm working a little on a project I really want to finish. Something I started over a year ago and need to clear off my desk. I actually feel a little regret that I couldn't participate in the first Zone build.

Re: About our two current builds

I haven't an issue with it. However, I would suggest that if by a week or so before the the end of the shorter build is in site, and you see you're not going to make that deadline, to post some "re-cap" pictures, highlighting your kit, in the longer build...I'm not saying ALL your pics need to be there, but just enough to familiarize anyone not closely following the previous build. I would also suggest a firm commitment post to join the other build. Let's eliminate gray areas before judging commences. Just my thoughts.
