Cromwell Models (UK)
Anyone else seen this stuff?
After seeing their ads in the magazines I thought I'd check them out. They manufacture all-resin full kits of some pretty obscure stuff. The thing that appeals to me are the German field-pieces they do. I've seen a few small pics of their kits built up and they look awesome. But they aren't for the faint hearted. They're very pricey (I think) but they're very detailed. I just chose this pic at random. It seems they're 'Churchill Central' though as they have several versions of that vehicle. They do 1/35 and 1/76 (the old Matchbox vehicle scale) and 120mm. Cromwell Models Home Page I'm not certain what this tank is. The caption was 'Neubfahrzeug' Heavy Tank. I think that directly translates as 'New Driving Machine' but I don't really know. I might have a single pic of one of these somewhere. The site is well worth a look as the models have been really well finished. ![]() Peace.

Re: Cromwell Models (UK)
Thanks for the advice McCoy...I know nothing except what I've seen in magazines.
So I was right about the Neubfahrzeug. I have a photo. It's probably pretty common as it appears in Squadron Signal's 'Panzer Colours II'.

Re: Cromwell Models (UK)
I have heard of ordering problems. I have also seen a lot of the 1/76 stuff and some 1/35th. The 1/76 is good stuff for gaming and there is a large variety. Not really model standard though. The 1/35th is a different kettle of fish altogether. The tanks I have seen are exceptionally good.
Hard to get to Australia most of the time but if you want something special such as the model Geek has posted they do some interesting stuff (these were experimental tanks built in 1934 - 5. A total of five were produced). |

Re: Cromwell Models (UK)
It's a shame because I was really interested in some of their howitzers. Field pieces are a lesser built subject and that appeals to me.

I would have a look at Armorama :: Military Scale Modeling Community - Model and Diorama Features, Forums, Gallery, and More. for anything from just about anyone.
Have also had word Cromwell are much better than they used to be now their website is going ok. Maybe they were having a hard time processing orders before. |

Re: Cromwell Models (UK)
Funny you mention their website acting weirdly. It took me three tries on different days to see the whole home page. It was taking ages to load and I gave up in disgust.

Re: Cromwell Models (UK)
I had a look today and it was fine but it wasn't last time I tried it. I hadn't looked at Armorama for quite a while and there is so much new stuff it is mind boggling. Dragon are now doing hard plastic figures!! They have a paratroop set to go on a KingTiger (four figures I think). Just the thing for enhancing a game model or two.
