War Veterans Mark Spitfire Anniversary
HUNDREDS of Second World War airmen recalled the fight to protect Britain from invasion this weekend.
The Imperial War Museum at Duxford hosted one of the largest gatherings of Royal Air Force veterans as it celebrated the 70th anniversary of the Spitfire, an aircraft synonymous with the Battle of Britain.
The Spitfire Anniversary Air Show featured 17 Spitfires of different marques, as well as the largest gathering of Spitfire veterans in the UK.
