It can be slow but I've found that the little button marked "Next" on my DVD controller works wonders for a slow scene. The combat scenes are really good, the flashback scenes really suck. Overall I give it a 6 on the 1 -10. My opinion,

I also enjoyed it. Nick Nolte had some brilliant lines of dialogue.

Another decent WW2 movie set in the Pacific which didn't get favourable reviews was "Windtalkers" starring Nicholas Cage and Christian Slater. Again I thought it was a good movie. Not a classic but definitely worth a watch.
