Re: New Stickey : Guess that Title

Sorry to butt in here but I have just turned on the TV and my favourite war film has just been on the TV (OK, it has some huge inaccuracies but it is still great). I have no picture so can anybody guess from the lines from the scrpit?

-'You cant leave'
-'If we are going to die it will be defending our own homes and farms!'

-'Hitch....Hitch, I know you are still alive, I saw you'
-'I am? Thank you very much Colour Sargent'

and probably the give away:

-'This is a Welsh regiment see, although there are a few foreigners from England in it'

The last line being the biggest inaccuracy, it was, at the time, an English regiment that become a Welsh one shortly after this battle and the vast majority of the men fighting the battle were English!

Oops, my bad, I should mention this is NOT WW2!!

Re: New Stickey : Guess that Title

It certainly is!! /The regiment was actually the 2nd Warwickshires. They didn't become the 24th South Wales Borderes until 2 years after the battle. The story I heard was that Stanley Baxter was a big Welsh nationalist so skewed the facts a little.
