Can anyone help me learn more about Generalmajor d Reserve Werner Mummert. He was the commander of Panzer Division Muncheberg at the end of the war. This division fought at Seelow and for the battle for Berlin. I have his date of birth, March 31 1897. Death Jan 28 1950 prisoner of the Soviets??
Knights Cross 1942, Oakleaves April 20 1944 as an Oberleutenant d Reserve while C.O. of Panzer Grenadier Regt. 103, 14th Panzer Div. And Swords on Oct.23 1944 this time as an Oberst in the same capacity as above.

I didn't give a month and day for his award of the Knights Cross because there seems to be some confusion about the month and day it was awarded, however in both cases the year is 1942.
