a few years ago I saw a History Channel show about Hitler that talked about what his doctors was giving him. They gave him a concoction of drugs, one of the consequences was that if you watch later films of him, he could not move his one hand, right hand, I believe. It was too long ago to remember what drugs they were giving him, but the show went on to talk about side effects of some of the drugs. I think, as an American looking back, that in the beginning, Hitler was not crazy. I think that after they conquered France, Hitler would no longer listen to his smartest generals and advisers, and became deluded that he knew more than they did. Of course, he was wrong!

Wasn't it Parkinson that was the cause of his shaking hand. As I recall he could use it but prefered not to as it was shakin' too much due to his illness n' created a bad image.

Yes, it's likely that Hitler had Parkinson's Disease.

Possibly also he became infected with syphillis during his time in Vienna in the early 1920s. This disease can lie dormant for many years before returning with a vengeance and Hitler certainly had all the symptoms by 1944/1945.

One thing is for sure - Hitler changed after Stalingrad. He was rarely seen in public and only ever spoke on the radio. Perhaps he suffered some kind of mental collapse from which he never completely recovered. He definitely had some kind of nervous breakdown again in September 1944 which lasted for several months.
