CHG Big Bear OstFront- Feb 08
Album
Von Signal! Deutches Soldaten am der PanzerGrenadier Divsionen GrossDeutschland kämpfen die Russen auf der östlichen Frontseite! (BabelFish Translation) My guys were able to fully kit me out with all the field gear and stuff I needed... At morning line-up ![]() Snow was from nothing in a few places to 3-4 feet deep.. Thats me stumbling, I'm 6'1" and its up to mid thigh... ![]() Mein Kameraden shoots at the "Russian" woman that shot me... (I made the mistake of seeing the movement, aligned sights, noticed it was a girl, paused, muzzle flash, took my hit, vowed to never let a girl get a drop on me again, I think she beat me to the draw anyways, but...) ![]() Sadly its only a blank firing gun owned by a friend... ![]() and this is the famous "Vater Weinacht" picture, a guy from my US unit that went with me and another said I came out looking like the German version of Father Christmas (his wife is from Germany) ![]() I will most certainly say that the Frontovik and the OstFront Soldaten both have my respect for fighting in weather even worse than this, movement is next to nil in the snow, if you go fast you'll fall or twist an ankle as I show up there, there were times I was lucky, or I could tell it was a low area, and we tried to move fast across open areas, but it never worked, I can see those areas being total kill zones, and our opponents realized that as well... I was part of the flanking group so we'd stay behind the unteroffizier would tell us to go as the front guys made contact and the rest pushed in behind them, we flanked out, but by the time we made it through the snow we arrived to hear the main fighting ahead of us and Russian and German "dead" where we were flanking too and had to struggle to catch up again... Still it was fun and a bit miserable as the water finally got inside my lowboot around lunchtime but it was awesome, I'll be finishing my German impression to go OstFront more... |

Re: CHG Big Bear OstFront- Feb 08
We all own most of our own weapons. Some are the "unit's" if they were purchased with unit funds and get bounced around and cared for my different people...
I own my M1 Garand, Mauser 98k, and soon a M1911A1.
