Welcome to the Re-enacting forum
Welcome to the re-enacting forum. I hope to be able to expand my area of expertise in this area a bit more for everyone.
My experience consists of years of ACW re-enacting (mostly as a youngin) with about 2-3 years on the fields. I've been doing WWII since March of last year but I've quickly fell into the pace of things. I'm a member of the California Historical Group (see my thread this forum) a non-profit organization that is dedicated to re-creating WW2 history for the public and securing big open areas where we can go and fight for tacticals.
I've been studying WW2 since the age of 11 and I'm still learning new things every day.
What will we do in this forum? Well myself, I will be posting sites of note for re-enactors (most will all ready know of them or if not, I recommend checking them out) and just WW2 enthusiasts. I've always been a big vehicle and campaign guy and now that I re-enact I've learned tons about gear and personal items. I will post the big snapshots from my tacticals and publics and put a link to my photobucket which will be housing the rest, just to show off to enthusiasts of WW2 and to show re-enactors from other parts of the country what our events look like in SoCal.
I especially invite re-enactors from all over the world to chime in and show and tell us how you guys do things in your events. Unlike my ACW group here in Illinois we have no general organization to govern everyone as a whole, but I noticed in WW2 you have the CHG, RPS, and other groups governing a region of units. So I would value the insight from re-enactors from other areas of the country.
I hope you all have fun here and if you don't re-enact, enjoy the pictures, (and maybe you should :P ) if you do, then share your opinions!
