Marine Aviator

I think a joke turned into an idea... I hate it when that happens:

Thinking of putting a little something together just so I can get some cool photo-ops with Wildcats, Corsairs, etc at air shows... And I was later told it'd work for downed aviator scenarios... But I'm all about Grunt for tacticals and such... But since WPG has flight suits and Mae Wests but no more helmets I'm picking one up on E-bay:

M-450 NAVAL CARRIER PILOT FLYING HELMET SIZE LARGE - eBay (item 140223766797 end time Apr-16-08 07:38:24 PDT)

Mae West, Goggles, Flight Suit US Flight Suits & Gear - What Price Glory

Nametag (I'd love to have the Flight E guys do this up but we have no brown russet leather and we don't have the stamp dies for the old school Naval Aviator Wings): Flight Suits: Historical WWII Navy & Marine Corps Leather Nametags

Holster for my pistol:

Pacific Canvas & Leather Co. INC

Just won some WWII Naval (They are slightly smaller and the CAPT's/LT's Bars have the connectors at the ends instead of in the middle of the bars) 1LT and CAPT's Bars on ebay.... which should I get put on the patch and wear on my garrison cap?

Re: Marine Aviator

Got my rank insignia today. They are the correct ones. The Capt's bars need bend back to be fixed and they all need polished. My flight helmet is on the way and I have ordered the FLight Suit and a Mae West. A VMF-314 patch should be on my way as well. I should have the basic things for the airshow in Chino next month. And I will have the radio and goggles and a .45 in time for the PTO event where everyone seems keen on doing me as a downed aviator...
